Attractive copper line engraved map originally produced by Bellin to accompany  Prevost's 'Histoire General des Voyages'. Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) was probably the most important French cartographer of the mid-eighteenth century. He was appointed the first Ingenieur Hydrographe de la Marine, and also Official Hydrographer to the King. The present map is dated 1752 in the plate. Decorative cartouche.

Measures approx. 190 x 260 mm. Good condition, see photo. a few paper flaws..
