SCOTIA REGNUM.. 

A highly decorative copperplate map of Scotland dating from the early 17th century. The present map first appeared in William Camden's Britannia* (London: 1607-1637). This decorative map was based on the one which had appeared in Mercator's Atlas of 1595. It was engraved by William Hole, who is one of the earliest recorded English map engravers. Decorated with galleons, sea creatures and an elaborate compass rose.

Measures 280 x 3250 mm. Excellent condition.
