Highly decorative 17th Century copper engraved map of China produced by the famous English mapmaker, John Speed. The present map is an excellent example of Speed's carte-a-figure map of China from his 'Prospect Of The Most Famous Parts Of The World.' The map has decorative borders showing four views views along the top, while the lateral borders show various orders of citizens. Originally published in 1626, this edtion was published by Bassett & Chiswell in 1676. A highly desirable item.
