Scarce decorative copper line engraving on paper originally produced to accompany John Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine" published in 1611. The present map comes from  the Bassett and Chiswell edition of 1676. A very desirable map of Wales with sixteen vignettes of Welsh towns, Shields and a large compass rose.

Measures 390 x 510 mm. Good condition. see photo. Overall age toning. Chips and fraying at the extremities of wide borders.
